Unit of Inquiry – ‘Who We Are-Our Senses’
Collection: Thanks to everyone who brought items in, they truly enhanced our unit of inquiry. We are still collecting things, so if you haven’t brought something in, there is still time.
*See the attached paper for inquiry homework.*
French
KGG has learned their first song in French! It is attached in the take home diary. Please have your child teach it to you and practice.
Language Arts
This week we learned about the sounds ‘s’ (as in snake and soda) and ‘a’ (short a, as in ant and apple)
- Please remember to read a range of books with your child.
- Cut out the weekly words (at, sat, a) and stick them to card, try reading them by saying the sounds and blending them together. Keep them with your word collection.
- When reading with your child, play an ‘I Spy’ game. See if they can spot any pictures or words with the ‘s’ or ‘short a’ sound.
Maths
We are continuing to explore numbers. The task is to have your child create an artwork to represent any one number. Be creative with this! Keep in mind there is no correct answer. Students can use paint, crayons, pens, pencils, felt tips, collage materials, play dough or anything else they can think of. Artworks will be displayed in class as part of our ‘Number Art Gallery’.
