Unit of Inquiry – ‘How the World Works-Water’
Walk with your child around the home.
Where do you see water?
How is the water connected to your house?
Where does it come from?
Where does it go?
Can you find any other liquids in your house?
Look for things that are ‘wet’ or ‘watery’.
Practise talking about what you saw,
so that your child can tell the class all about it!
Language Arts
This week we learned about the sounds ‘t’ (as in tiger and turtle) and ‘i’ (short i, as in ink and pig).
- Please remember to read a range of books with your child and discuss them.
- Cut out the weekly words (sit, tip, pin) and stick them to card, try reading them by saying the sounds and blending them together. Keep them with your word collection.
- Attached is “Reading with KG Children at Home”. Read about the different strategies to use when reading with your child. Use a range of strategies throughout the week.
Maths
Thank you to the students who turned in last week’s ‘math art’ homework. This week, use beans/buttons/Lego bricks (or any other objects you have) to find different ways to make five. Record on the sheet provided.
Please hand in all homework some time during the week after it is assigned.
